Let’s open up the books and find out what’s happening at our area High Schools.

Dryden High School

DHS Eagle Girls Hockey – next action is today (Tuesday, February 17th)at 4:30 versus the Kenora Beaver Brae Broncos.

Tonight….(Tuesday, February 17) at 7 o’clock at the Dryden Memorial Arena, The Dryden Eagle Boys Hockey Team will honour their Grade 12 players as they play their final home game of the regular season. These athletes have shown dedication, teamwork, and heart throughout their high school hockey careers, and this night is about celebrating them as they move on to their next adventures.  Come support the Eagles, celebrate the seniors, and be part of a special night.

The High School Council is partnering with Dryden OPP to bring an important presentation to students, families and caregivers – Helping Kids Stay Safe Online.  Join the school council and OPP in the DHS library on Wednesday, February 25th at 6pm.  All area schools students in grades 7 to 12 are invited along with their parents and caregivers.

Sioux North High School

Sioux North will be hosting a Course Fair on Thursday, February 19th from 5 to 7pm. 

Come for dinner, learn about the courses offered and help plan your student’s pathway.  A Grade 8 parent meeting will be held from 6-7 that night and the KPDSB Director’s Fireside Chat will be on from 6:30 to 7:30.

Red Lake District High School

First off a big congrats to the Red Lake Rams Senior Boys Basketball team for their fantastic play this past weekend against triple ‘A’ teams in the 2026 Windsor Park Collegiate Senior Boys Invitational Tournament in Winnipeg.  The team came through to win the Consolation side of the tournament!! Way to go Rams!

The NORWOSSA playoffs for girls volleyball and boys basketball begin today (Tuesday, February 17th) at Red Lake District Highschool and continue on Wednesday. First games today (Tuesday) will feature the Senior Girl Rams taking on the Northern Lake Lightning at 12:30 and then the Junior Girl Rams facing the Northern Lake Lightning at 2:30 in volleyball action.

Pelican Falls First Nations High School

In Winter court sports action the Timberwolves will be hosting the Ignace Falcons today (Tuesday, February 17th) in volleyball and basketball action.

Ignace School

A Parent Council Meeting will take place tonight (Tuesday, February 17th) 6:30 at the school.  All families are welcome to join to share ideas and support the Ignace School community!

Wednesday, February the 18th will be a late start day for grades 9 to 12.  School will not start until shortly after 10am..

And keep in mind that Friday, February 20th will be Ignace Falcon Shirt Day.  Put on your best Falcon wear!
