Dryden High School

Congrats to the Eagles football team after scoring a dominating 37-13 victory over the Kenora Beaver Brae Broncos in a league quarterfinal matchup last week. The Eagles football team advance to one of the league semi-finals in Winnipeg this Thursday.
In Dryden Eagle Girls Hockey this past Friday, the Eagle girls put away the Red Lake Rams 3-1 in Dryden in exhibition play.
Rachelle Brown, a Grade 12 student at DHS, has earned a spot with the Ontario Provincial Honour Band. Only 80 students from across the province get this opportunity. She is raising money to support travel to this amazing experience. Hear Rachelle and Craig Dormer -another fabulous DHS student play tonight during a fundraising recital at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Dryden. Doors open at 6:30. The recital starts at 7. Admission is pay what you can.
The DHS swim team has practice Tuesday and Thursdays 7-8am at the rec center starting Tuesday, November 4th!
There will be a meeting in room 206 this Wednesday at lunch for more info on what to expect for this season.
November 5th is picture retake day at DHS ~ students who would like a retake should bring their original portrait proof package to the photographer on that day.
Sioux North High School

Sioux North Senior Boys Volleyball Team played this past weekend at the Dryden Pumpkin Smash Tournament. The boys battled their way to a 3rd place finish! Congratulations on an amazing result!
Wrestling Start-Up for high school students! Today, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week are the first practices. Practice times start immediately after school in the Cafetorium. (3:15-5pm)
Court sports action for the Warriors has Sioux North teams away on Tuesday this week to play against the Dryden Eagles and then on Thursday the 30th the Warriors return the favour by hosting the Eagles.
A Halloween Costume Contest will be held on Thursday during period one. Judging will take place during period 2 and the winners announced in the following categories: Scariest, Funniest and Best Overall.
Red Lake District High School

Coming up on Tuesday this week…..the Red Lake Rams host St. Thomas Aquainas in Court Sports action….volleyball and basketball. Matches begin Tuesday morning at 9:30. Up first: Senior Boys volleyball. More volleyball action on Friday the 31st starting at 9:30am as the Rams will host the Pelican Falls First Nations Highschool Timberwolves!
Don’t forget about the Frightful Film Night on Thursday, October 30th. There will be a Haunted House at 6:30, a movie will be shown starting at 7 and much more at Red Lake District High School.

Parent – Teacher interviews will be held on Wednesday of this week from 4 until 6.
Coming up tomorrow – October 28th…..the Timberwolves host Rainy River in court sports action and then away action on Thursday and Friday this week in Kenora and Red Lake before hosting the Ignace Falcons on Monday, November 3rd.
Ignace School

A reminder that the Ignace Falcon store is live. It will stay open until November 16th. There are adult and youth options and a variety of price points!
Time is running out. Ignace school needs to reach a fundraising goal of $3000. Please help support the Grade 7/8 Toronto Trip. Mom’s Pantry is due Nov 3rd. Norcard/DFS is due Nov 11th.
In court sports action today….the Ignace Falcons are hosting Rainy River in court sports play.
And don’t forget about Halloween this Friday! Wear a costume to school! Enjoy the Spirit Assembly and consume some Eyeball Soup on Halloween at the school. It’s ok….it’s really tomato meatball soup.
