Lottery Licence Policy Challenged in Dryden

Dryden Council has asked Staff to reverse a decision to not allow the Ignace Youth Bowling League sell lottery tickets in Dryden.
Its been practice in the past to support local groups and not allow the sale of outside tickets, unless it has a direct benefit to Dryden residents.
Councilor Mike Wood says he would they like to see the not-for-profit group sell tickets and notes it may be time for an in-depth review of the licensing policy.
Treasurer Linda McNaughton says the current policy is in place to avoid taking fundraising opportunities away from local organizations and community groups.
More information and a possible vote on the issue is expected next Monday.
