Low Income Statistics In The Region

The Rural Ontario Institute says about 10 per cent of families living in northwestern Ontario can be considered low-income.

The agency looked at different measures which show the range between 8 and 11 per cent.

Director Norman Regatlie says it would take about a 7-thousand dollars increase to get reach the income threshold.

Some measures show the number of low-income families in the region is similar to the provincial average.
