Lowe’s Closing In Thunder Bay

Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Thunder Bay is closing.

The company says it is one of three “underperforming” Lowe’s stores in Ontario which it will be shutting down, and one of 34 Lowe’s, Rona and Reno-Depo brands across the country which are closing.

The last day of operations will be January 31, 2020.

The announcement affects 120 local employees.

Lowe’s became an anchor store at the Intercity Shopping Centre in 2016 once it took over the site from Target.

The building was a Zellers store before that.
