A Vermilion Bay man is lucky to be alive after a serious motor vehicle collision Monday.
Dryden OPP say an eastbound pickup truck veered off Highway 17 near Vermilion Bay and hit a tree.
The Machin Fire Department and Dryden Ambulance Service were at the scene to help before the man was airlifted to hospital in Kenora.
Police say the 38-year-old man is facing several charges including driving while under suspension, failing to surrender a drivers license and operating a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
