Effective March 4th, there will no longer be lunch-hour crossing guards at Dryden schools.
The Dryden Police Service and impacted schools determined that the need for the lunch-hour patrol is not needed because majority of students who leave school during lunch can travel safely.
Chief Rob Davis says crossing guards will continue their duties before and after school.
Davis adds there will be an increased presence of officers during the transition to ensure safety, and motorists are reminded to use caution.
