The president of Confederation College admits to disappointment and some frustration following the breakdown of negotiations between the colleges and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union.
It means the college teachers strike, now into its fourth week, will continue indefinitely.
Jim Madder says talks produced agreement on all outstanding issues but the major hurdle, academic freedom, couldn’t be overcome.
The Ontario Labour Relations Board will ask the teachers to vote on what Madder calls the “really good offer” from the colleges.
No date has been set for the vote.
