Major Drug Bust in Dryden

Dryden Police have a 29-year-old man in custody after executing a search warrant on an Orvis Street home last night.
Officers seized a large quantity of cocaine and ecstasy, an unregistered firearm, ammunition, 3-prohibited weapons including a set of 3-ninja spikes, a baton knife, pepper spray and cash.
Police say Lee Chartrand of Dryden faces 2-counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, 4-firearm related offences, 3-counts of possession of prohibited weapons and 1-count of possession of property obtained by crime.
Police Chief Shayne MacKinnon says this is considered to be a major drug trafficking arrest and seizure.
MacKinnon says their priority is getting rid of those in the community who harm youth through trafficking illegal substances.
He says the Police Service is determined to put pressure on traffickers in the future with the view of making Dryden drug free.
