Major Drug Seizure By Nishnawbe Aski Police Service

The Nishnawbe Aski Police Drug Enforcement Unit seized a large quantity of illegal drugs in partnership with Timmins Police Service and Canada Post.

The May 28th to May 30th initiative started in response to the State of Emergency declared by the Mushkegowuk Tribal Council on November 15, 2017.

As a result of investigation, 15 packages were searched resulting in approximately 449 grams of Marihuana and 1.7 grams of Hashish being seized.

These packages were destined to arrive in Attawapiskat First Nation, Kashechewan First Nation, Fort Albany First Nation and Moose Cree First Nation.
