Major Fire in Dryden

A major house fire in Dryden at 4 this morning. On arriving at the scene, Dryden Police and Fire found a large two vehicle attached garage fully engulfed by flames, and fire moving into the one storey attached home on the West, and extending to a camper on the east.

The two adult occupants of the home were woke up by their smoke alarms sounding, and three persons, 1 adult & two children sleeping in the camper beside the garage escaped when they woke up by the sound of the fire in the garage, all five occupants are reported to be fine and thankful for the working smoke alarms.

26-Firefighters took part in extinguishing the fire which destroyed the garage, two vehicles, a camper and caused considerable damage to the home.

One Firefighter was transported to the Dryden Hospital by EMS Paramedics, and treated for a back injury from a fall. The Firefighter was released after two hours of observations by Hospital staff.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Dryden Fire Service.
