A major facelift for the Red Lake Municipal Airport is coming.
The Federal government has announced more than $10-million for upgrades to the facility.
The money will be used to rehabilitate the runway as well as three taxiways.
Upgrades are also coming to the Air Terminal Building apron.
Kenora MP Bob Nault says since 1995, the Airport has received in excess of $14.7-million for 16-safety projects.
Mayor Phil Vinet says the investment will ensure their airport continues to be a regional transportation hub in the movement of passengers and freight.
The @RedLakeAirport is an extremely important hub for residents and businesses in Northwestern Ontario, which is why I am pleased to announce an investment of more than $10 million for upgrades and improvements to the facility. For more: https://t.co/TDDXeo7VTX pic.twitter.com/1GsO4HBgYi
