Man Fined for Not Having Travel Permit

A Manitoba man has been fined $200 for travelling on the Werner
Lake Road without a permit and $250 for making a false statement
to a conservation officer.
A Kenora Court heard 52-year-old Rick Smiley of Winnipeg told an
officer back in September he had a valid permit for the road and that no
one had been staying at his cabin.
However, an officer found 5-men later in the day and the group
advised they followed Smiley down the road and were staying at his camp.
An investigation determined the man did not have a permit to travel the
Werner Lake Road.
