Provincial Police in Northwestern Ontario are on the lookout for a man who tried to lure two young girls in his van.
The incident happened on Tuesday in Atikokan.
OPP were called about a suspicious man driving around in a brown mini van, and tried to get the two young girls to come into his van by promising them candy.
Fortunately the girls didn’t get in the van, and instead ran inside the home they were playing outside of and reported the incident to a parent while the van drove off.
The van is described as an older-style mini van that appears to be “kind of boxy”, light brown or tan coloured with wood panneling on the lower portion and possibly has a roof crack. The windows are clear, and the driver is described as Caucasian, clean shaven and has dark/curly/medium length hair.
While police believe this is an isolated incident, they are reminding the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times.
