Next time just buy a fishing licence.
A Manitoba angler learned that lesson the hard way after being hit with a $2,300 fine for illegally fishing on the Winnipeg River north of Kenora.
Vincent Wiebe was caught fishing near the Caribou Falls generating station last may with seven walleye in his possession.
He was also in an area that was posted with a Danger-No Trespassing sign.
Weibe was fined over $1,500 for fishing without a licence and also for trespassing.
