Marian Irene Bullock

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother and grandmother Marian Bullock at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on Tuesday November 14th 2006 with her devoted family at her side. Marian was born on January 19, 1933 to Ernest and Irene Gabrielson in Wabigoon, Ontario and was educated in Wabigoon and Dryden High Schools. In 1951 Marian married Dan Bullock and together they operated Route Lake Lodge. Later Marian sold insurance for The Co-Operators, worked for Roy and Brian Lockyer, and managed the cafeteria in the Dryden High School. Marian was a competitive 5 pin bowler winning numerous awards at local and provincial levels including a Canadian Bowling Title as a senior. She was an active volunteer member of the Dryden Senior Go Getters Club and enjoyed the outdoors, including: fishing, hunting, and mushroom and berry picking. She especially enjoyed traveling with her companion Ebbe Kruger. She busied herself with her crafts, vegetable and flower gardening, cooking and baking. She loved birds especially when the blue jay came to her feeder. Her other interests included casino visits and playing bingo, and jokes, emails and games on the computer. Despite her many interests, family was her priority. Birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions were very important to her. Marian is survived by her companion Ebbe Kruger, daughter Phyllis Coles (George), son Joe Bullock (Doris) and daughter Nancy Davis (Leonard) and 4 grandchildren: Orvie Dingwall (Jamie), Edward Coles, and Dustin and Katie Davis. Also surviving are sisters Minnie Rushowick and Dolores Dunn (Clayton) and brother Garnet Gabrielson (Alice). Numerous nieces and nephews mourn her passing. Marian was predeceased by her parents, husband Dan Bullock and brother Walter Gabrielson. At Marian’s request cremation has taken place and interment of ashes will be held in the Dryden Cemetery. To celebrate Marian’s life, family and friends are invited to Bonny Bay Camp Friday, November 17th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers and if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Dryden Regional Health Centre CT Scan Fund or through the Stevens Funeral Homes, (Moffat Chapel) at 50 Albert Street, Dryden, Ontario, P8N 2Z1 or Box 412
