With heavy hearts our family announces the passing of Marie Geiger our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt at Dryden Regional Health Centre with family by her side.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Dawn (Pat) Magee of Kenora, Ben of Vermilion Bay, Shelly (Jason) Penner of Stettler, AB and Doug (Kathleen) of Vermilion Bay. She will be missed by her grandchildren Sean Magee of Kenora, Kevin (Sarah) Magee of Ottawa, Dakota and Colton Penner of Stettler, Jessica and Damian Geiger of Vermilion Bay. Her siblings from the Fort Frances area: Shirley (Tom) Morrish, Tom (Chris) Logan, Bonnie Turriff, Linda (Ernie) Jones and their families. Her in-laws from BC: Billy (Crystal) Geiger, Ruth Ann Lubenow, Violet (Larry) Zaluski, Leonard Kozak, Bobby Kozak and families.
She was predeceased by her husband Ben in 2006, parents Tom and Helen Logan, Brother Larry, Sister Wendy Buechler and in-laws Bertold Geiger, Sadie (Anderson) Kozak and Bill Kozak.
Marie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed baking, cooking, knitting, crocheting and reading. Until Lupus, an auto immune disease prevented her from being outside, she also enjoyed her garden, flowers, apple trees and fishing with her family. She was proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments.
Cremation has taken place and Funeral Services to be held at Dryden Community Funeral Home on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 9:00 am. Interment will follow in the Vermilion Bay Cemetery.
Special thanks to Laura, Dr. Gagnon and Com Care who made her life easier by allowing her to remain longer in her own home.
