Massive Evacuation in Far North

The Ministry of Natural Resources has been forced to evacuate hundreds
of people living in the Far North due to heavy smoke from forest fires.
536 people have been brought out of Deer Lake.
Information Officer Bob Thomas says 147-residents from Keewaywin and
128 from Sandy Lake have also been evacuated.
Thomas says the evacuations are mostly due to heavy smoke however
crews have their eye on the blaze near Deer Lake as its inching closer to
the community.
All of the evacuees have been flown to Geraldton.
More then 400-fires continue to burn across the Region.
