Mayor Fed Up with Patient Transfer Issue

The Mayor of Dryden says Municipal leaders have to take the “bull by the horn” and push for changes to land ambulance service in the Kenora District.
Craig Nuttall says staff do a great job but are hindered because of the current rules allowing non-emergency patient transfers.
Nuttall says the Provincial Government has to “smarten up and get the land ambulance service back in the hands of Hospitals”.
Nuttall says he’s seen two incidents as of late where the Dryden Police had to transfer a patient with a serious injury to Hospital because an ambulance was out on a non-urgent call.
The Kenora District Services Board has been lobbying the Province for years about non-emergency patient transfers.
