The Mayor of Red Lake says an offer to purchase Placer Dome made by
Toronto-based Barrick Gold is pretty big stuff.
Dunc wilson says they have become accustomed to take over bids but
notes the numbers are huge this time around.
Wilson says the exact impact will not be known for some time, but he
suggests it could be a positive for the community.

Porcupine Mines to Goldcorp.
