The Mayor of Dryden says she’s floored that Northwestern Ontario was
virtually left out of a billion dollar plan for Northern roads.
Anne Krassilowsky says the current state of Highway 17 leaves motorists
3 choices, hit the animal, roll the car into the ditch or move into oncoming
traffic.
Krassilowsky says Regional Highways are in deplorable shape and
the Province has done nothing to fix the problem.
A Ministry of Transportation report indicates there are no short-term
plans to 4-lane Highway 17 because traffic levels don’t justify expansion.
Krassilowsky responded by asking why the MTO feels a Bypass is needed.
