Meat Seized in Barwick

The Northwestern Health Unit is advising local residents not to buy meat that has come from uninspected processing facilities.

Earlier this week, the Health Unit closed down Sunrise Meat and Sausage in Barwick for having uninspected meat on the store.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Pete Sarsfield there was no illness associated with the company or its products.

Sarsfield says the Health Unit was acting on a complaint and worked with the Ontario Food Inspection agency on their investigation.
