The strike at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine is officially over now that the school’s board of directors
has ratified the deal.
Striking members of OPSEU Local 677 have voted 78% in favour
of the tentative contract on Friday.
The first collective agreement for the 150 support workers in Thunder Bay and Sudbury is in effect until April 30, 2012.
The contract includes a retroactive wage increase for 2009-2010 of 3.25% followed by no wage increases in the second and third years.
There is also a one-time lump sum payment of $2,000.
The office, clerical, administrative and technical workers walked off the job on Aug. 16 and a back-to-work plan has yet to be finalized.
