The Kenora District Services Board is lending a helping hand to a Thunder Bay church group.
Jerome Harvey says an ambulance donated by the KDSB is being shipped to a small remote community in El Salvador Thursday.
The ambulance was being taken out of service.
Harvey says they will also be sending medical supplies and equipment.
He says a Thunder Bay paramedic recently travelled to the country and trained three people to become ambulance attendants.
The $10,000 cost to ship the vehicle is paid for through donations.
