Mental Health Struggles During COVID-19

The Canadian Mental Health Association is taking more calls from people dealing with isolation and depression during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Executive Director Jennifer Hyslop says “Our youth are struggling with lots of anxiety around the school situation. Parents feeling lots of stress and anxiety around trying to be a parent, trying to be a home school teacher and working a full-time job.”

Hyslop adds it’s important to reach out to others you know, in spite of people saying “fine” when asked “How are you?”

She says while some are having a tough time with no face to face meetings, others are embracing the on-line support and over the phone care.
