Look at all of those smiling faces!!
Eagle River community volunteer and Sunset Country Ukulele member, Connie Calvert shares the following……
“The Sunset Country Ukulele group was started two years ago by two girls with an intention. Susanne Bastable and Mary Lindmeier spend time in Mexico every winter and got involved there. They brought back the idea to share their fun with anyone interested in learning. It started out as a small gathering and has grown to a group of over 40 members.
We play at Patricia Gardens, Princess Court, The Go Getter’s, 10 Victoria, The Annual Fish Fry/Pontoon Boat ride in Vermilion Bay, Eagle River Coffeehouse; to name a few.
We have so much fun playing a variety of music and meet once a week in the summer/fall months and every two weeks in the winter to hone our skills and learn new chords and songs.
Susanne Bastable is our summer/fall and Connie Calvert our winter leader. It’s a great way to meet new people, socialize, learn an instrument and have tons of fun.
Keeping active and involved is so important to your well being and provides a mental health boost!”

When not on-air Richard likes to cosplay as 'Spider-Dad McCarthy'. Listen weekday mornings from 6 to 10 on CKDR and on 'the web' at YourSunsetCountry.ca.
