Minaki Lodge closes, AGAIN

It was called the Jewel of the North but somehow the sparkle was just never there in full bloom.
Minaki Lodge was shut down again, yesterday after a Calgary developer spent $4 million on renovations & improvements before re-opening the resort.
It had been closed since the summer of 98 & Many creditors, suppliers & trades in the Kenora area say they have yet to be paid for their work to restore the resort.
The 1st hotel built at the site was the Minaki Inn in 1914, but it closed during WW 1.
In 1919, CN Rail took over the property & sold it to the Ontario government in 1974, which sold it to Four Seasons Hotels in 1987.
