Miners Inch Closer To First

The Red Lake Miners led from start to finish and are now only 3 points behind first place in the SIJHL standings.

Spencer Milne and Jordan Baranesky both scored a pair of goals to lead the Miners to a 6-3 win Tuesday in Cochenour.

Hunter Halcrow and Keilan Toewes also found the back of the net.

Jesse Mistlebacher had a memorable debut for Dryden GM with a goal and an assist.

Josh Weber and Evan Pakkala scored the other goals for the Ice Dogs.

Dryden GM outshot Red Lake 36-23 but had trouble scoring late on Zach Willms.

Knute Loe suffered the loss.

The Ice Dogs now prepare for visiting Thunder Bay Wednesday evening at 7:30 at the Memorial Arena.
