Miners Thump Lumberjacks

There was no slowing down the Red Lake Miners offence Saturday night.

The Miners started quick with two in the first and ended big with seven in the third for a dominating 13-1 win over visiting Wisconsin.

Ryan Hunter continued his hot streak with 3 goals and 1 assist.

Jordan Baranesky finished with 2 goals and 3 assist, while Brady Harroun, Noah Kramps, and Ethan Pool also scored twice.

Ryan Howe and Nic Bolin added singles.

Red Lake got the scoring trifecta with a power play goal, short handed marker and a penalty shot goal.

The Miners outshot the Lumberjacks 50-23 with Jaxon Taupert picking up the victory.

Red Lake looks for the sweep Sunday at 7:30 at the Cochenour Arena.

In other SIJHL action, the Fort Frances Lakers stunned Thunder Bay 5-2.
