The surging English River Miners are moving up in the standings.
The Miners scored three unanswered goals, including two in the final period, in a 4-2 win over the Dryden Ice Dogs in Lac Seul First Nation last night.
Brendan Wilde notched the winning goal, while Will Wickersham got the ball rolling with a power play goal 9-seconds shy of the second intermission.
Devan Vander Wyk and Royce King also found the back of the net.
Mack Boyce and Tyson Holder responded for the Ice Dogs who outshot the Miners 45-30.
Greg Harney picked up the win, while Shayne Dietl suffered the loss.
English River is now 6-0-1 in their last seven games, while the Dogs have dropped two in row.
The Miners are now just three points behind fourth place Dryden in the SIJHL standings.
English River has four games in hand on the Dogs.
The game was played in front of a large and appreciative crowd at the new Lac Seul Arena.
