Miners Win-Ice Dogs Lose

The Thunder Bay North Stars took advantage of Ice Dogs penalty trouble in a 3-1 win Friday night at the Memorial Arena.

Blake Berg opened the scoring for Dryden GM, but the North Stars scored three straight on the power-play.

The Ice Dogs outshot the North Stars 34-27 and are back on the ice Saturday night at home against Thunder Bay.

In Ear Falls, the English River Miners showcased a balance attack in a 5-3 win over struggling Minnesota.

The Miners scored four times in the second period.

Scoring for English River were Ryker Moreau, Hank Bouchard, Dominic Blouin, Aaron Balcombe, Eric Champagne and Taylor Bargar.

Greg Harney made 26-saves for the win.

The rematch is Saturday night at 7.
