Miners Withstand Late Comeback Bid

The English River Miners jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead and held on to defeat the Wisconsin Wilderness 5-3 Thursday night in the lone SIJHL game.
Paul Lamoureux sparked the Miners attack with a pair of goals, while Ben Smaha and Ryker Moreau also found the back of the net.
Richard Dartnall added a short handed goal.
Greg Harney made 36-saves for the win.
The Miners are now just one point back of Dryden in the standings.
They can move past the Ice Dogs tonight in Game 2 against the Wilderness.
