High commodity prices are creating a surge in mining
activity in this region.
That was the message delivered on the weekend at the
Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association conference in
Thunder Bay.
John Halet is the President of the Northwestern Ontario
Prospectors Association and says both levels of government
have nurtured the sector with investment incentives.
Halet notes communities can help out the industry by
creating a one stop shop list of employable residents and
required goods and services.
