Mining Consultations

The provincial government is being asked to hold more consultation sessions on the new Mining Act.
Consultations wrapped up this week in Toronto, but a number of municipalities in this region say they would like to have their say. Dennis Brown is mayor of Atikokan and is circulating a letter to towns and cities in northwestern Ontario asking them to lobby the provincial government for more public meetings.Brown says he’s already received support from a couple of municipalities in this region and is hoping to get the issue on the agenda of the Northwestern Ontario Regional Conference in Thunder Bay next week.
