Minister of Northern Development and Mines Rick Bartolucci says he can’t understand what the NDP is trying to do.
The squabbling and mind games between the Liberals and NDP over the passing of the budget has been more like a ping pong game, back and forth.
Bartolucci says his father always said “you are only as good as your word.” and he wants the NDP to make a commitment to the budget.
Bartolucci says he’s hoping the “voices of reason, even though they are minimal in the NDP, will come to the forefront”.
The NDP and Conservatives teamed up at committee yesterday to remove another key portion from the Government’s budget.
Talk of a summer election has now cooled but the Liberals will be watching closely today for additional cuts at the Committee level.
A vote on the budget bill is on Wednesday.
