Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Ted McMeekin continues to visit area communities as part of his “Building Bridges” tour.
McMeekin spoke with the Mayors and Reeves of Atikokan, Conmee, Gillies, Neebing, O’Connor and Oliver Paipoonge on Wednesday.
He says he heard several complaints about the District Social Services agency in regards to a lack of senior social housing.
The Minister also admits although the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation doesn’t fall under his jurisdiction more needs to be done to help protect communities from out of whack property assessments.
