OPP in Red Lake have ramped up efforts in the search for a missing Keewatin woman.
A ground search for Valerie Annie Cain is underway and weather permitting, an aerial search will be conducted.
Police haven’t provided specifics but say they are concentrating on the Red Lake area.
Cain was last seen at the Norseman Inn around 9:30 Sunday morning and the last known contact with her was a received text message just before noon that day.
The 44-year-old is employed at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, but was working extra shifts at the Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital.
Cain is described as 5 foot 7, 144-pounds, with short black hair and blue eyes.
She drives a 1999 Ford Explorer, with licence plate number BEHE 028.
Anyone who has information on Cain’s whereabouts is asked to contact Red Lake OPP or Crimestoppers.
