This week will be a good measuring stick of what we can expect for Winter weather this year.
The Weather Network is out with its Winter forecast for northwestern Ontario.
Meteorologist Michael Carter says our area won’t get locked into one pattern for an extended period of time.
Carter expects we will split the difference right down the middle, with periods of bitter cold like we are experiencing right now and mild conditions like we should see this weekend.
In terms of precipitation, Carter is predicting below normal levels.
He notes Atlantic Canada will be the hardest hit in terms of snowfall amounts.
