Mixed Feelings From Con College President

The president of Confederation College is a bit disappointed with the provincial government’s new restriction on tuition hikes.
Tuition increases will now be capped at three-percent, down from five-percent.
Jim Madder says this they won’t be able to go ahead with some of their new and current programs at their Thunder Bay campus as well as the regional ones.
He adds the move will barely cover some of the inflationary costs they have.
From the student’s perspective, Madder says it will be a good thing for them since tuitions won’t go up the previous five-percent.
The average tuition for a student at Confederation College is about 2500-dollars, and three-percent of that works out to be about 75-dollars.
