A five goal explosion in the third period broke a 4-all tie as the Dryden Eagles Boys defeated the Beaver Brae Broncos in Kenora Tuesday night.
Trey Palermo was the difference in the 9-4 victory, scoring 5-times and adding 2-assists.
However, Co-Coach Darryl Mousseau says it was a complete team effort.
Mousseau notes it was an amazing effort considering they were only playing with 11-skaters.
Mousseau says they worked hard and skated hard and everyone was contributing.
Another difference in the victory was special teams as the power-play was 3-4 with 14-shots on net and the Eagles added two shorthanded goals.
Matt Kellar added two goals, while Ryan Hron and Cam Zappitelli chipped in with singles.
Devon Caren made 38-saves for the win.
The Dryden Eagles Girls weren’t as fortunate on home ice.
The Eagles were shelled by the Fort Frances Muskies 7-2.
The Beaver Brae Broncos downed the Thomas Aquinas Saints 5-1 in other girls action.
