Despite two days of hot weather, the forest fire hazard remains low across much of Northwestern Ontario.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says the ground is still wet, with the Red Lake District experiencing some flooding.
The fire hazard is moderate in the eastern portion of the District.
Information Officer Debbie MacLean says the recent lightning strikes don’t pose any problems at this time.
There are no active fires burning in this District.
Meantime, 170-fire fighters are returning home Thursday after a 2-week stint in B.C.
They are being replaced by another 120-personnel who headed West today, half of them from Dryden.
