Lightning strikes sparked 15-new fires across the Northwest Region
Tuesday.
Firerangers and waterbombers were able to hit the fires early to limit
their size.
Ministry of Natural Resources Information Officer Travis Moffat says
the potential for new intense fires is high right now.
Moffat says the public can do their part by using a portable gas
cookstove when camping and to never burn when its windy.
The MNR will be monitoring the situation the next couple of days before deciding
whether or not to implement a restricted fire zone.
