MNR Deals with Floods Not Fires

Although the forest fire hazard is low to moderate in this Region, Ministry of Natural Resources crews are keeping busy in other areas.
Firerangers are assisting with emergency response flood concerns in the Thunder Bay area and helicoptors are being used to monitor water levels and road washouts.
Information Officer Bill Ringham says more then 20 firerangers are in the area.
Ringham says the flood threat has diminished.
Meantime, crews deployed to Northern Manitoba to help with forest fires in that district returned to Dryden yesterday.
