The Ministry of Natural Resources says that after a slow start to the fire season, things are starting to heat up across the Region.
2 blazes sparked this past week, including a 1,200 hectare fire in the Rainy River district.
Information Officer Debbie McLean says their main concern this time of year is grass fires, which can move quickly and can carry deadly consequences.
There have been 10 wild fires reported this season, including the brush fire near the Dryden Fairgrounds last weekend.
All have been human caused.
