MNR Has A Prescribed Burn In Red Lake Area

A prescribed fire burn is being conducted in the Okanse Lake area.
Prescribed Burn Boss Jack Welch with the Red Lake Fire Management says it provides an opportunity to understand the specific fire behavior related with blow down fuels.
“We’re trying to gather more information so that we can help prepare ourselves better for fires of this fuel type in the future and make things more efficient.”
The South Bay Mine Road will be closed to the public, about 10km south of Okanse Lake.
Welch says the burn should be finished up sometime early this week.
