MNR Hoping For Quiet Weekend On Forest Fire Front

The long weekend is almost here and most people will be heading outdoors to enjoy everything northwestern Ontario has to offer.
The Ministry of Natural Resources is asking the public to keep a close eye on campfires.
Information Officer Debbie MacLean says never leave a campfire unattended and ensure it’s out when leaving the area.
MacLean adds if you plan on lighting fireworks, do so at a safe distance from buildings and trees.
The MNR stresses the public is responsible for any human caused forest fire.
The fire hazard is currently low to moderate, but MacLean stresses that could quickly change.
