A severe thunderstorm watch has ended in Red Lake and Ear Falls but the Ministry of Natural Resources is still keeping a close eye on the forecast.
The MNR continues to battle Red Lake Fire #31.
The blaze is still not under control and is more than 17,000 hectares in size.
There are now 53-fire crews working on the blaze.
Three new forest fires sparked in northwestern Ontario Monday, including one more in Red Lake.
Thunderstorms in the forecast could spark new fires in the northern portion of the region.
