Thanks to continuing rain in northwestern Ontario, two of the region’s
water bombers and two scouting planes are headed to fires in Alberta.
It’s a different story from two weeks ago, when the region’s fire
hazard was listed as extreme.
With the wet weather’s help, information officer Deb MacLean says that
crews continue to make excellent progress in extinguishing hot spots near
Thunder Bay and savant lake.
No new fires have been reported in Northwestern Ontario over the past
few days and the fire hazard is expected to remain low.
