MNR Looking For Public Input On Fishing Regulations

Local anglers have a chance to weigh in the next couple of days on fishing regulations on Eagle Lake and Wabigoon Lake.

The Ministry of Natural Resources has 16-options on the table for possible changes.

Open houses are being held Tuesday at the Riverview Lodge in Dryden and Wednesday at the Municipal Hall in Vermilion Bay.

Both sessions run from 4 until 8.

Information will be provided on how the walleye, pike and other species are doing in the lakes as well as options for altering the regulations.

Ideas on the table include removing or adding protected slot sizes for different species and allowing night fishing on Eagle.

All input will be considered in the drafting of new rules.
