The Ministry of Natural Resources is closely monitoring a forest fire about 60-kilometres west of Pikangikum First Nation.
The 65-hectare blaze is blowing in a remote area and doesn’t threaten any property.
However, the MNR notes the fire is burning in a mix of blowdown and standing fuels and can quickly spread.
3-waterbombers and 1-helicopter are responding and Red Lake Fire 44 will be reassessed today (Tuesday) to determine the next course of action.
